As we talked earlier, AR has brought the spirit of the first days of indie games. The new technology significantly simplified the entry to the market. Developers want to make interesting games, to offer the exciting experience to players, and just after that, they think about profit (however, this is also very important). And very soon we will see what Apple get for developers and users. Especially what about ARKit?
So, we want to introduce you four games we want to try after the official release of ARKit and those games.
1. Ancient sport in AR Mammoth Mini Golf AR
Mammoth Mini Golf AR is an interesting realization of the playing mini golf in the entourage of the Stone Age. The game combines the possibilities of imposing all crazy and fun things on the real situation around us. You can bring home all Stone age stuff: mammoths, dino-birds, cavemen and volcanos, and also developers promises multiplayer mode, so that’s defenitely looks like a good family game.
2. UnderVerse
UnderVerse is an upcoming free-to-play location-based augmented reality mobile MMORPG, developing by Ambidexter for iOS and Android devices.
Development of the game began long before the announcement of ARKit, but the guys from Ambidexter did their best to show us a test version of how their game looks in the ARKit framework. Spoiler — it looks really cool!
3. Ancients AR
In the game you arrange sea battles. However, not only warships take part in them. Like in the epic poems of Ancient Greece, in battles, besides humans, huge ancient divine beings take part. And it seems like the object of the game is to sink the opposing player’s battleships using your ships and those huge creatures. I would like to note the excellent work of displaying objects of augmented reality in the environment. The view of the camera from under the water makes the game more interesting.
4. RPG in AR
Huge possibilites for whole PRG genre. Now you can do quests in real conditions, use the urban conditions around you to create an adventure entourage. Find treasures, fight with monsters, connect or compite with friends — a lot of options.
And of course, this is not all that the ARkit technology is capable of. Well, very soon we hope to find out what opportunities for augmented reality we will be able to use. We are waiting for the presentation with impatience!
