It sounds strange, but in 2017, until now the view that games are harmful, and technologies by themselves can be dangerous, are still mainstream.
That why we need to explain, that technology is just how we use it. Of course, if some technology becomes abundant, it provokes people to use them. But it’s our choise, what technologies should be in excess. And we think that we are able to make it so that virtual reality becomes something more than just entertainment.
Of couse, education is the first step to make VR a useful and beneficial. We’ve already made couple of products like InMind, where through the game process you can learn a lot about how our brain works.
But the next step is when VR becomes a salutary technology. It has a strong potential for important social areas like medicine, charity, enlightenment, overcoming poverty and so on. Let me show you the very inspiring example how in Brasil medics use VR so that children are not afraid of vaccinations. This social campaign won Cannes Golden Lion this year. But it isn’t the most important, of course. The most important thing is that VR helps keep alive many many Brazilian boys and girls.
So it goes, folk.
